FM Dashboard

Background

First mile is the first set of physical processes that compulsively happen for any shipment within the logistical supply chain. At Delhivery, there are many user flows that become a part of the “FM” bucket, one crucial touchpoint is the FM dashboard.

Before moving to the Dashboard itself, l had to build a context of FM processes which I have recorded in the document below:

+First Mile - Contextual Understanding

How does a shipment move?

Pickup

To simplify the document further, here is an IA demonstrating the shipment movement from the order manifestation, pickup,  bagging and transferring to the hub facility for further connections.

Once the shipment has arrived at the facility, an EOD is done to close the FE dispatches which have been completed for the day.

Two key things to note here:

  1. Not all shipments are picked, the ones which aren’t are to be verified as mentioned above under PUR verification.
  2. This would mean there would always be these types of Dispatch ID at EOD: a. PURs Picked (Utopian Case), PUR’s Not Picked (Verified), Partial Pickup (Including picked and not picked), PUR’s Not Picked (Not Verified - usually least possible scenario).

Processing

Once the EOD is done, shipments are then unloaded for GI (Generic Incoming) for further processing.

Key things to note here:

  1. Processing USL is an important metric which is calculated by the number of shipments scanned within 6 hours of the PUR generated.
  2. PTL Cutoff is the time by which a bag needs to be ready.
